Welcome to St James' online learning community.

This is a place where you will be able to explore our school and enjoy a flavour of what makes St. James' Catholic High School so distinctive. Primarily St. James' is a community of faith where every child has the opportunity to excel and achieve their potential. We seek to challenge and support all our children as they grow into adulthood, knowing how important it is to do their best, care for those around them and bear witness to Christ in our modern world.

Our students are hardworking, generous, friendly and fun to be with. Our staff bring many talents to their work ensuring a vibrant and flourishing curricular and extracurricular programme that testifies to the service and generosity of everyone.St. James', in the Diocese of Shrewsbury, is a Specialist Humanities College, with English, Religious Education and Citizenship as lead subjects. Our specialist status has enabled us to develop innovative approaches to teaching and learning across the school and reach out to the local community.St. James' is the local Catholic school designated for physically disabled students and is an all embracing inclusive community.

OFSTED inspectors have praised the school: "St. James' is a good school with outstanding features. Students achieve well and standards are high...at the end of Key stage 3 standards are significantly higher than those nationally...at Key Stage 4 the percentage achieving five *A-C grades at GCSE is significantly above the national average."

Parents play a vital role in developing the school and the education of their children. The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) works hard raising funds to support the work of the school. In recent years the PTA have raised over £60,000 to fund the bid for specialist status and last year purchased a new minibus.
