Learning and Resource Centre

the Library is a pleasant and convenient place to choose books

The LRC is found in the heart of the school and contains over 8000 fiction and non-fiction books for students to borrow as well as reference books. The literature is for all age groups, interests and abilities and extremely up to date. We also carry a range of informative DVDs to support the curriculum, newspapers and periodicals and make the promotion of "Reading for Pleasure" a priority.

The LRC is managed by Mrs Smith, assisted by Mrs Morrin, is open from 08:15am until 4.00 p.m. each day. During the timetabled day it is used for a variety of learning activities and at break and lunch-time for additional study, borrowing books and other resources.  A small team of student librarians help out at break and lunch by issuing and discharging books for the librarians.

From 3.15 p.m. until 4.00 p.m. Mrs Smith is in the LRC for any pupils who wish to use the facilities for homework, research or quiet reading.

ICT and the LRC

The LRC staff also open the ICT suite in Room 12 at lunchtime for pupils, so they can work, under supervision, on school studies.

NB: The Learning Resource Centre is also the place to hand in all Sainsburys, Morrisons and Tesco vouchers - in fact we will collect anything!
